Through a sense of shared responsibility and cooperation for the full respect of the worldviews and rights of Indigenous Peoples, discussions will cover how their heritage contributes to the ongoing vitality, strength and wellbeing of communities.
The book dives into distinctive testimonies collected through a participatory approach and in close dialogue with Indigenous Peoples showcasing the enormous diversity of elements inscribed on the Lists of intangible cultural heritage. The experiences portrayed in this publication pay tribute to the tireless efforts of Indigenous Peoples to transmit their living heritage and reflect on the evolving impact of the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
This event is supported by the Permanent Delegation of Brazil to UNESCO.
